Soft Wash vs Pressure Wash: Which One Do You Need?

Short answer: Use soft wash for siding, stucco, roofs, painted trim, and anything that could be damaged by force. Use pressure wash for concrete driveways, walkways, patios, and pool decks. A good crew does both and matches the method to each surface.
Soft washing uses low water pressure (about the same as a garden hose) combined with a professional cleaning solution that kills mildew, algae, mold, and biological growth at the source. The chemistry does the work — not the force of the water. Because the growth is neutralized, results last significantly longer than a pressure-blasted surface where the roots stay behind and regrow within months.
Use soft washing for: vinyl siding, stucco, EIFS, roof shingles, painted trim, screened porches, wood decks, fences, condo and HOA exteriors.
Pressure washing uses high-pressure water — often 2,500 to 4,000 PSI — to physically blast dirt, oil, tire stains, and ground-in grime out of hard porous surfaces. Concrete acts like a sponge; the only way to actually pull soil out of it is force.
Use pressure washing for: concrete driveways, sidewalks, patios, pool decks, brick, unpainted stone, and dumpster pads.
